Surviving in the time of economic downturn (2)

(…continued from last week please look for the publication if you missed it)

4. Plant the right seeds. Your future is in your seed. Don’t get me wrong, seed is not all about money. It refers to anything you are blessed with that you can assist others with. It could be an act of mercy or forgiveness, it could be using your talent to help your community, it is anything you can invest in the lives of others. The seed in your hand is what you have been given to create what you desire. Mike Murdock said until you let go of what’s in your hand, God does not let go of what’s in His hand. Your seed is your power over lack. The Power To Get Wealth Is The Power To Give. Find someone in need and be a blessing to him or her.

Now let us take money for instance. Most people don’t want us to talk about money in the church but we have to! This is not about fuelling people’s greed for more, it is about survival! Even church people need money and they need to understand the laws governing the creation of money! Recognize that money is not a promise but a reward: a reward for services rendered; a harvest for seed sown. Prayer and fasting are NOT the seed for money. Harvest does not follow need, it follows seed. I suffered and endured lack until I discovered the truths I am sharing with you now. The Word of God states clearly that a man reaps whatever he sows. In the parable of the rich fool, Jesus makes us to understand that in every income there is something for God, something for you and something for others. God blesses you for himself, for yourself and for others. Greedy people don’t understand that. You need to sow the right seed. A sister in our church testified just a few days ago. She was down and out financially. She joined a contribution and collected N100,000 to do business and return the money. She said the Holy Spirit ministered to her to give five thousand out of that money to our building project. She ignored her fear and did as she was told. She started her business and things were working out. The Holy Spirit told her again to start giving the sum of N200 to the building project every week. She obeyed. Then her money continued to increase and she increased her seed for the building to N500. Not long after, she repaid the N100,000 she borrowed and had over N100,000 left for her business. It took courage for her to do that! The right seed requires faith. The right seed is never convenient. It is not your leftover; it is not a tip; it is something you consider twice. It is something that shakes your heart when it leaves your hand. It is something that leaves you empty or almost empty. A boy gave his lunch pack containing just five loaves of bread and two fishes. It was all he had. The widow gave her last card. Another widow in the New Testament gave all that she had- two mites. YOUR SEED MUST BE COMPARABLE TO THE HARVEST YOU DESIRE, NOT IN SIZE BUT SACRIFICE. Here is the key: if you want a bountiful harvest, sow a bountiful seed! 2Corinthians 9:6, “But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”

5. Profess the Word of God. Confess your way out of lack. Mind what you say. Use your authority and dominion. Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. (AMP)Matthew 18:18, 18Truly I tell you, whatever you forbid and declare to be improper and unlawful on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit and declare proper and lawful on earth must be what is already permitted in heaven. Joshua 1:8 says, “8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” You release power and positive energy when you speak the Word of God in faith. That is the way we make things happen. You must constantly confess that God is supplying all of your needs (demands) according to his riches in Christ Jesus. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Walk in enlightenment. Isaiah 60:1-2. Take authority over what you need and command it to come to you after you have planted your seed. Ask the Lord to send His holy angels to get it and bring it to you. Satan is waiting for your words; God is waiting for your words. You empower the devil when you confess lack and speak negative words. Repeat what God is saying about you and not your circumstances. Champions speak their expectations not their experiences.

6. Pray. Fill out an order form. Most people don’t receive because even after sowing their seeds, they sit and wait for things to happen on their own. God taught me how to fill an order form in prayer. He taught me how to take authority over the money I need. Most believers know how to take authority over demons but not over money. Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” ‘Need’ here in the Greek means requisition or demand. It is like filling out an order form. PRAYER FOR FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH IS EFFECTIVE ONLY IF YOU HAVE PLANTED THE RIGHT SEED. Fill out your order after you have planted your seed and heaven will respond promptly and appropriately.

7. Persevere. Hebrews 6:12 “That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” 1Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be you steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”  Ecclesiastes 11:1 “Cast your bread on the waters: for you shall find it after many days.” Your reward is programmed to come in your life-time so don’t quit after a few days, months or years. Wait for your cloud to be full of rain and then empty itself in your hands.

Remember God is faithful. You are exempted from failure and lack as a covenant child. God did it before, He will do it again. Stand on the counsel of God that cannot fail. You will flourish even in these times because you are planted by rivers of living water!
