The police in Niger State have arrested a suspected car snatcher, one Isah Yusuf and others for robbery and thuggery in Minna.

This is contained in a statement by its Public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Saturday in Minna.

According to him, on July 19, police operatives of Gawu-Banbagida Division arrested a suspected car snatcher at Diko market.

He explained that the suspect was attempting to steal a Honda Civic vehicle with Reg. No. GGE 04 AC parked within the market.

“The suspect was attacked by a mob, who injured him, but he was rescued by the police in the market and taken to Gawu-Banbagida police Division.

“During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and mentioned one Abubakar who accompanied him to the market for the act, but escaped from the scene.

“Exhibits recovered include spare keys, fabricated keys and other items,” he said. (NAN)
