Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 22-year-old suspected cultist, identified as Chukwudi Ekenna, for alleged cult activities in the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspect was apprehended by operatives of the CP-SAT, led by ASP Julius Robinson.
He noted that the operatives, acting on intelligence, stormed a criminal hideout in the Umunaji area near the “Stop Abortion” Junction in Asaba to effect the arrest.
According to Edafe, a search of the hideout led to the recovery of one fabricated Beretta pistol, two locally made cut-to-size guns, and 10 live cartridges.
He added that the recovered items are believed to have been used for cult-related activities and armed robberies within Asaba and its environs.
