Suspected drug dealer arrested in Kano

A suspected drug dealer Ibrahim Mohammed, a resident of Rijiyar Zaki of Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State has been arrested by police operatives of a special intervention squad.
The suspect was found to be in possession of 5 bags and 297 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa.
Police spokesman SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa in a statement said the arrest followed a sustained intelligence-led and community-based policing, marking a significant breakthrough in efforts to combat drug trafficking and illicit activities in the state.
Kiyawa said Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori while commending the operatives for their dedication and bravery in making this arrest, has also directed that the investigation be concluded promptly to ensure that the suspect and his accomplices face the full weight of the law.
The police appeal to the residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police division nearest to them assuring them of commitment to rid the state of criminals.
