Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 26-year-old woman, Tare Orusanaye, for alleged drug trafficking.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, said the suspect was apprehended by officers of the Ugborikoko Division during a raid on a premise along Jakpa Road in Effurun.
Items recovered from her include substances suspected to be cannabis, a weighing scale, tobacco products, and a generator tank used to conceal the drugs.
Edafe also disclosed that operatives of the Ovwian-Aladja Division recovered a sack containing suspected hard drugs during a separate operation along the Igbogidi axis.
He said the suspect fled upon sighting the police, abandoning the illicit substances.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and bring all those involved to justice.
