The police in Katsina State have arrested two suspected kidnappers and a suspected Automated Teller Machine (ATM) fraudster in the state.

Parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili, said the duo of Abdulmalik Yusuf, alias “Danmaliki”, 30 and Tukur Abdullahi, 35, conspired with one Isah Mohammed (now at large) to kidnap a lady, Umma Korau, aged 34 years of Madacin Yan-Nono, Katsina.

He added that the suspected ATM fraudster, Mohammed Kabir, 32, was arrested in the premises of one of the commercial banks in the metropolis in possession of eight different ATM cards used in duping unsuspecting victims.

He said the suspect, who has since confessed to his crime, normally deceived his victims who went to the banks to seek for help to use the ATM.

He said, the fraudster upon assisting the persons will thereafter switch the person’s ATM with one of his and later withdraw money using it (stolen card).

The CP also revealed that the command on January 22, succeeded in arresting one Saifullahi Sa’idu, aged 20 years of Kadangaru Quarters, Dutsinma LGA of Katsina State who Suffered electric shock while trying to cut electricity cable from a transformer in Dutsinma.

The “suspect sustained serious injuries and was rushed to General Hospital Dutsinma where he was treated and discharged.  He will be charged to court,” he added.
