The Plateau State Police Command has arrested nine suspected criminals who have committed various crimes in the state.

Parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, said the suspects include armed robbers, kidnappers, and phone snatchers, among others.

The Commissioner of Police stated that the arrests followed efforts by police personnel to restore law and order in the state, and he called on residents to cooperate with the police to ensure peace and security.

The command disclosed that their men have recovered a good number of arms within a short period of time in their various operations.

He said, “Our constitutional mandate is to ensure the safety and security of lives and property on the Plateau, and we have worked tirelessly to achieve this goal.”

In a related development, the State Commissioner of Police has also warned newly recruited police officers to shun corruption and misconduct on duty.

The commissioner said, “This is the beginning of your journey in the Nigerian Police Force. You have to behave yourselves. Don’t tarnish the image or name of your parents. The Inspector-General of Police has warned you to be zero-tolerant of corruption. You are all aware you have a salary, and you are enjoying good welfare. Don’t live above your salary. You are just starting your journey.’’
