A Lagos State Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba presided over by Samuel Ilori, has ordered the remand in prison custody of one Akande Omogbemi and Abubakar Mayaki, the alleged killers of a staff of one of the LGAs in the state, Kazeem Idowu Keshinro.

The police had arraigned four suspects Mukaila Salawu, Tiyamiyu Ahmed, Wasiu Suleimon and Ibrahim Ekemode, before Magistrate Lateef Owolabi over the incident.

The police also declared one Omogbemi and Mayaki wanted, saying that the two bolted away after the incident.

The prosecuting counsel, Mrs Abiola Adeoye, prayed the court to remand the defendants pending issuance of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

But defence counsel, Bright Uleyo, opposed the prayer, arguing that there is no material fact before the court to grant such application.

In his ruling, Magistrate Lateef Owolabi ordered that the accused persons be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for 30 days pending the DPP’s legal advice.

The matter was adjourned till October 10 for mention.

It could be recalled that the victim, Kazeem Idowu, who was also described as a hunter and staff of Ikosi-Ejirin local government, could be seen in a video soaked in a pool of blood and his body riddled with bullets.

He could be heard recounting how he went on hunting activities in the Ota area of Ikorodu, Lagos State and he was suddenly ambushed, attacked, shot severally and macheted on the orders of one Mukaila Salau aka Actor, a notorious land grabber who was physically present at the scene.
