Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa, has accused thugs working with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attacking  members oof the All Progressive Alliance in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Opeifa made the allegation while speaking with journalists at his polling booth located along Oyewole road, Agege, Lagos.
Opeifa said at about 11: 40 pm Friday, suspected thugs working with the Lagos State PDP stormed the Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, shooting sporadically and vandalising property.
“We were told that the armed bandits were led by the PDP House of Representatives candidate in Agege Federal constituency, Mr Niyi Raheem. And after they had attacked the council, they also attacked the INEC Agege office situated close to the LCDA, before coming here to fire shots at my house,” Opeifa said.

The state Transport Commissioner later conducted journalists round some areas where gun shots and bottles left marks.
Opeifa further alleged that after attack on his house, the hoodlums headed towards Agege Local Government secretariat where a member of the party was killed.

“We are aware that after they left here, they headed towards Agege Council Secretariat where they killed a yet to be identified member of the party. The attack was launched at 12:30 am. It was a few minutes after the Police Area Commander left the area,” Opeifa said.

While confirming the incident, INEC officer in Agege Local Government, Barrister Dapo Aderibigbe said it was true that the electoral office was attacked.

“It is true that we were attacked. It was an attack aimed at creating fear in us. But we are not in a position to say who was responsible for it because that is the responsibility of the security operatives. The person who was also said to have been killed in Agege Council Secretariat
was also not an ad-hoc staff of INEC as being speculated,” Aderibigbe said.

Efforts to get the PDP House of Representatives for Agege Federal Constituency, Niyi Raheem, proved abortive. When Daily Trust correspondent visited his office along Orile road, Agege, his receptionist told the reporter that he was at the polling booth. And when our correspondent arrived there, he was said to have left
