The police in Ogun State say a suspected member of a five-man robbery syndicate has been shot dead at Ibara housing estate area of Abeokuta metropolis.
Our correspondent learnt that the incident occurred at 1am on Friday when the fully armed suspected members of the gang reportedly invaded a compound housing 12 flats.
It was further gathered that in the course of their operation, the police received a distress call from a neighbour, a development which made the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, to dispatch the Officer in charge of FSARS, Uba Adams, to quickly move into the scene and rescue the situation.
