The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has apprehended a 28-year-old man, Bless Johnson, for impersonation and obtaining money under false pretenses.

According to a statement from the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in the state, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba, the arrest followed a report made to the NSCDC Divisional Office in Mubi.

He said acting on credible intelligence, officers tracked and arrested Johnson on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Timbokum village, Ganye Local Government Area.

He said initial investigations revealed that the suspect defrauded at least nine people, luring them with false promises of political appointments, job placements, and international travel assistance.

Records show a total of N9,085,000 was deposited into his account by the victims.

During the investigation, Johnson refunded N1,120,000 to some of the victims.

The statement added that the suspect carried out his scheme by obtaining contact information of prominent state personalities to lend credibility to his fraudulent offers.

The Adamawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant I.D. Bande, has ordered a full investigation to determine the extent of Johnson’s activities and identify any accomplices.

Commandant Bande assured the public that the suspect would be prosecuted and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any fraudulent activities to the nearest law enforcement agency for swift action.
