The police in Lagos State have arrested a member of a robbery gang, Samson Cletus, which specialises in snatching tricycles.

The suspect was arrested after he attacked a tricycle rider on Celestial Road, Igando, and was about to flee with the tricycle.

A witness explained that during the struggle to take control of the tricycle, the suspect hit the rider on the head with the butt of his gun and rendered him unconscious.

Benjamin Hundeyin, Lagos State police spokesman, said, “The suspect, identified as Samson Cletus, was arrested trying to make away with a tricycle.

“The rider is responding to treatment in a hospital. Meanwhile, efforts are on to arrest other syndicate members who fled upon sighting the police.”
