Speaking to Feverpitch after watching Lobi demolish Ocean Boys 3-0, the football enthusiast said the Benue State sponsored team clearly overwhelmed its opponent in all departments of the game.

He said with such impressive performances, Lobi will continue to enjoy the support of the state governor who is so passionate about making the club one of the best in the country.

Kyenge said so far Lobi Stars have justified the confidence reposed in them by Suswam whose tenure has seen the transformation of the sports sector in the state.

“I am so impressed with what I have seen. Lobi Stars were better than their opponents in all departments of the game. Ocean Boys could not withstand the tactics of Lobi Stars.

“With such performance, the team will continue to enjoy the backing of the state governor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam. The governor is ever ready to give support to the team. Benue State is fully behind Lobi Stars.

“I call on the team not to rest on its oars because to whom much is given, much is expected. The only way to sustain the support the club presently enjoys from government is to keep winning. This is my candid advice to the players and officials of the club”, he stated.

The governor’s aide said it is not only Lobi Stars that is enjoying the support of the state government as he said sports generally has received sufficient attention under the administration of Suswam.

According to him, since the governor took over, sporting activities have come alive saying the impressive outing of Team Benue at the 17th National Sports Festival in Port-Harcourt was due to the massive support the contingent enjoyed from the governor.

“The governor’s support is not only for Lobi Stars. Sports generally has enjoyed tremendous support. If you look at the past performance of the state in the National Sports Festival and what the state achieved at the last edition in Port-Harcourt, you will understand better what I am talking about”.
