To improve the socio-economic lives of women in the society, a systematic approach is needed to assist them curb corruption in their different spheres of life.
This was stated during the just concluded 3rd biennial zonal conference, organised by the association of Women in Colleges of Education, North-Central zone.
The theme of the conference is ‘Role of Education in Curbing Corruption and Youth Unemployment in the 21st Century’.
The national president of the association, Mrs Mary O. Aibangbe, who noted that necessary steps must be taken to combat the negative effects of corruption, added that due to the current happenings in the country, many youths were becoming wayward.
She added that the role of education as the most veritable tool in combating the menace cannot be over emphasized, adding that the conference is intended to annually create opportunities for women to assemble, harmonise ideas and compare notes on issues bothering, not only women, but the national interest generally.
She called on the women to work on the recommendations of the communique and improve on them in the interest of the nation.
