Tafidan Gwandu dies at 97

The Tafidan Gwandu, Alhaji Yahaya Bawa Jega, has died at the age of 97 after a protracted illness.

It was gathered the nonagenarian, died on Saturday at the Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kebbi.

The Late Jega, was the pioneer chairman of Jega Local Government Council in 1976 and was also at one time the chairman of United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) and the All Peoples Party (APP).

He left behind four wives, 56 children and 342 grand children.

He has since been buried in his home town, Jega.
