Tahir, who spoke in Lagos at the 50th anniversary lecture and celebration of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, said the school has no choice than to have a  model that would chart the course of legal practice in the country.
He said: “The Nigerian Law School has no choice than to a model. If it goes well with the law school it will go well with the lawyers, legal practitioners and other practitioners in other sectors in the country’’.
He said the Nigerian Law School has no choice to roll out drums to celebrate its 50years of excellent education in the country despite the shortcomings of the institution.
Speaking Deputy Director-General and Head of Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School, Mrs. Toun Adebiyi, said the silver jubilee celebration of the institution underlies the school’s successful years of imparting legal knowledge on lawyers.
She however said the Lagos  campus of the institution is beset with infrastructure challenges, which has necessitated its management to consider raising fund to fix the challenges.
Among the challenges, she said is the abandoned 24years hostel of the school, which has made accommodation difficult for the students.
She also said the former Governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has promised to  help complete the abandoned hostel project
According to her: “It was when we took to Tinubu when we met him over the needs of the campus and he promised to help out. The project was 80percent complete when it was abandoned. I was so happy when he promised to do it for us.I know it’s going to be soon’’.
Other prominent lawyers, including Governor Babatunde Fashola(SAN),Chief Wole Olanipekun and others who were present at the occasion also promised to help fix other infrastructure challenges of the Lagos campus of the school.
Olanipekun, who was the Chairman of the occasion, advocated the need for stakeholders in the legal sector to invest massively in the Nigerian Law School.
Meanwhile, the guest speaker at the anniversary lecture of the occasion, Dr. Fabian Ajogwu has stressed the need for  training programme model for law faculties in the universities.
In his paper,” Legal Education and Legal Profession: A Reality Check, Ajoku,also advocated the need to ensure that legal education is righty priced.
