A Chief Magistrate Court in Ikeja, Lagos State, on Monday, ordered that a 32-year-old tailor, Udeze Ejiofor, who allegedly defiled a 13- year- old girl, be remanded in Ikoyi Custodial centre.

Ejiofor, who resides in Oko- Oba area of Lagos, is charged with defiling a minor contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos , 2015.

Chief Magistrate Olufunke Sule-Amzat, who did not take the plea of Ejiofor, ordered that the case should be transferred to the Ikeja Special and Sexual Offences Court.

Sule-Amzat adjourned the case until May 14.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, ASP Benson Emuerhi, told the court that Ejiofor committed the offence in February at New Oko- Oba area of Lagos.

He said the defendant indecently sexually assaulted the girl in his shop contrary to the provisions of the criminal law. (NAN)
