I’m 55-years-old, I used to have such abundant curiosity in my younger days, I have a persistent desire to know everything, what happens, when it happens, why it happened, etc. I used to ask so many questions, read everything that came my way, even discarded paper etc. I also used to have a strong wish to be able to live for a thousand years so I will be able to witness all the things that will happen as the world comes to an end.

Now I’m in my mid 50s and I know I will not live that long, and honestly, I don’t have that desire anymore as the world keeps losing human quality as it increases in technological advancement. I don’t fancy myself having fun with any robots in place of real human beings. But I’m still very curious to know how the world will be in the next 50 years, when my now 2-year-old baby will be around my age with his own children. I would like to know the world my grandchildren will live in, especially in terms of technological advancement and human to human interaction, tell me what my grandkids will be enjoying in the future!

Let’s hope your grandchildren will also have good leaders. If not all enjoyment will be a bittersweet one as their fatherland is bleeding.

In terms of mobile phones, your grandchildren will probably enjoy smartphones with transparent foldable and stretchable screens that can be stretched in different directions according to ones’ need. Such phones don’t need to click or type anything because they will be fully integrated with everything, all you need is to say it and the phone will do or type exactly what you ask. And down the line, maybe they don’t even need to speak, because their smartphones will be connected with their mind through the alter ego interface, a technology which will be able to read your mind and do what you want without you having to say anything. Be assured also these phones will not have battery problems, as they will have an over the air charging transmitters that will keep the phone fully charged all the time.

In terms of transport, your grandkids will definitely be riding electric cars and electric air cars, these cars might probably be self driven smart cars. They will be enjoying the swift, super fast and seamless travel on the hyperloop trains, high speed trains and magnetic trains. They will also be riding door to door air taxis, supersonic passenger planes and electric aircraft.

Their houses might be built with blocks made of fungus! Or high performance concrete, which is much stronger with more insulation than our normal concrete! They may have energy efficient windows, solar panels roofing, etc. They will live in smart houses with all the appliances working seamlessly, all they need to do is say light! And viola, the light will come on without them having to switch anything, likewise with other tools and appliances such as tap, shower, toilet, microwave, washing machine, etc. All they need is say it or think it and it will be done, no need to lift their hands or make any effort. Their Televisions will be ludicrously thin with stretchable screen, which will also be fully integrated with AI, no need for remote control, to change channels or adjust settings, all they have to do is say it or think it!

 

What hope is there for Nigeria?

Seeing all the burnings and killings in the recent EndSARs protest touched me so deeply.  I feel like a part of me is being burnt and brutalized. I love my country so much but right now, I feel hopeless as I don’t see a solution anywhere for my dear Nigeria. I don’t know what to hope or pray for my country anymore!

Well, the best thing to hope for Nigeria is an end to all these old political moguls that are bleeding the country for their own selfish gains. Let’s pray and hope the next generation of politicians will be  responsible and patriotic, ones’ who believe in the common good for all and not only themselves, their family, ethnicity or region. Let’s also hope that the next generation of Nigerian mothers will be active and responsible  mothers. They should be those who see motherhood as an honorable investment and best kind of employment, who know they are not only raising children but raising adults that will grow up and impact the country in a positive. The ones that are not just giving birth for the sake of being called a mother, but real authentic mothers that instill goodness in their children. Mothers are the backbone of the society, if they are good, the generation will be good, and if they are bad, society will generally be worse. So the best solution for Nigerian problems is the reform of womanhood and motherhood.  If we have good mothers, then we will be having less bad people in the society.
