Details and identities of the people killed by bandits last Friday at the  Shagari Estate opposite Government Girls Secondary School, (GGSS), Dutse, in Bwari Area Council of the FCT, have emerged.

It was gathered that 10 people were on January 7  abducted from two flats and a nearby hotel in the estate, and three of them later killed.

It was further gathered that the corpse of Talatu Salihu, a student of the Bayero University, Kano (BUK), was the first to be laid to rest by her family in Sabon-Wuse community moments after it was released from the Umaru Musa YarAdua H.ospital. The deceased was said to be residing in her uncle’s house within the estate when the kidnappers attacked. The uncle’s two little children are still with the kidnappers.

The kidnappers also killed Mitchel Ariyo, identified as a daughter of the Chief Legal Officer of the National Universities Commission (NUC), and she was buried on Sunday evening at the Dutse Cemetery in the community, the day when her remains were evacuated from the hospital. The late teenager’s mother and three siblings are still with the bandits.

The third killed victim, Akpagher Joseph Terzungwe, was abducted from the hotel facility along with his co-worker, a female receptionist, who still remains with the bandits. His remains were still in the hospital, as his relatives are planning to take it to his home state of Benue. 

Meanwhile, Daily Trust learnt that the bandits are now demanding N7m as ransom for the remaining victims.
