After weeks of speculation that he was gunning for the presidency, Tambuwal had announced during the week that he had decided to run for his state’s governoship seat.

The speaker was at the Sokoto state secretariat of the All Progressive Congress (APC) on Friday where he picked   the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms amidst cheers from his supporters chanting “the consensus candidate”.

The speaker was presented with the form by the state chairman of the party Alhaji Bala Abubakar after he presented a bank draft of N5.5 million.
