Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged the newly elected local government council chairmen to convene regular security meeting in their areas.
Sokoto is one of the states facing banditry in the Northwest region.
Swearing in the council chairmen on Wednesday, Governor Tambuwal also urged them to be reporting the outcome of their meetings to the state government for necessary action.
He donated a brand new Hilux car to each of the chairmen.
