The Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Engr. Kestin Pondi, has emphasised the critical role of collaboration with security agencies, host communities and stakeholders in the fight against oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.
Pondi disclosed this while speaking in Warri during a courtesy visit by the Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Noel Magudu.
Pondi highlighted the progress made in curbing illegal activities that have long plagued the region’s oil sector.
The visit reinforced the importance of sustained security cooperation in safeguarding Nigeria’s oil resources and improving production levels.

He said, “Illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism have caused immense damage to the Nigerian economy and the environment of our host communities.
“We have made remarkable progress, but to sustain and improve on these gains, we need stronger cooperation from security agencies and stakeholders.”
He noted that before Tantita took charge of securing oil infrastructure, Nigeria’s crude production had significantly declined, and environmental pollution was severe.
“Our waters were contaminated, and black soot filled the air. Today, we are seeing improvements, but we are not yet where we ought to be,” he added.
Rear Admiral Magudu reaffirmed the federal government’s target of increasing Nigeria’s crude oil production to between 2.5 and 3 million barrels per day, stressing that achieving this goal would require continuous collaboration among all stakeholders, including private surveillance companies like Tantita.
