Taraba APC dismisses ‘suspension’ of Senator Jimkuta

The Takum Local Government executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the purported suspension of David Jimkuta, the senator-elect for Taraba South.

A faction of the party had accused Jimkuta of anti-party activities during the last governorship election and suspended him from the APC.

But Mijinyawa Salihu, the party’s chairman in Takum LGA, described the suspension of Jimkuta as a nullity.

Salihu, while addressing newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital yesterday, said the purported letter expelling the senator-elect was fake and should be disregarded.

He said there have been moves to reconcile aggrieved party members in Taraba South and urged APC stalwarts to remain calm.

Daily Trust reports that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), candidate, Agbu Kefas, won the governorship election.
