Taraba launches free rabies vaccination for dogs, cats

Taraba State Government has launched free vaccination against rabies for  dogs and cats.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr David Kassa during the launching, said that rabies is a deadly zoonotic viral disease.

He said the vaccination programme was aimed at safeguarding the health of people.

He disclosed the state had received 3,500 doses of dog and cat Anti-rabies Vaccines (ARV) from the World Health for Animal Health through the Federal Department of Veterinary and pest control services.

Dr Kassa said the vaccination exercise would be carried out in all the 16 local government areas of the state.

He, therefore, called on all dog owners and cats to take advantage of the exercise and bring their dogs and cats to be vaccinated free of charge.
