The Lamdo of Gashaka in Taraba state, Alhaji Zubairu Hammangabdo has said his subjects are now going to their farms while travelers are moving day and night without being attack or kidnapped by bandits.
He said it was a collaborative by Rangers at Gashaka _Gumti National park who were trained to handle sophisticated arm by the Africa Nature investment (ANI) under an agreement with National park Authority that the bandits were flushed out of the park and the area.
The Monarch, while speaking in his palace at Serti headquarters of Gashaka local government area before the collaboration between the National park authority and that Africa Nature investment cases of banditry and kidnappings were rampant in the area but now security situation is better in his domain.
According to him, criminal elements including illegal miners took advantage of the thick forest,Rivers and mountains in the National park which is the largest in seize in the entire West Africa and wanted to make their hide out but were flushed out making the park very safe for visiting tourists
Alhaji Zubairu Hammangabdo,said arrival of African Nature investment into the park has made the Rangers patrolling the park against activities of poachers and criminal elements to be more effective thereby addressing security challenges not only for park but the entire Gashaka chiefdom.
He said ANI had also deployed the service of an helicopter monitoring devices which had improved patrol and surveillance of the entire Gashaka National park.
“We as Royal fathers we are happy that security situation has greatly improved in Gashaka chiefdom people can now farm without fear while ply roads without being attack and ANI should commended for the role they are playing in providing security” he said
The Monarch,also expressed happy over the empowerment programme ANI has initiated for women groups across the chiefdom.
Adamu Dahiru,a farmer, told Daily Trust before coming of ANI into area farmers were attacked by bandits while several members of community were kidnapped in the farms,houses and along the roads.
Adamu, said however the criminals elements terrorizing the area were flushed out by park Rangers which received good training and arms through collaborative between National park management and the Africa Nature investment.
