Residents of Lagos have been assured of restoration of law and order at Oshodi and environs and have also been advised to be security conscious at all times.
The Chairman, Lagos Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences Unit, ASP Olubukola Abe, told our correspondent yesterday that the unit had begun sensitising the people, especially those in Oshodi and other populated areas of the state on the need to be alert at all times.
Abe added that the task force had traced many of the hoodlums and is set to embark on more raids in the area to ensure that it is free of miscreants.
“We have been on massive enforcement of the law in Oshodi, not just arrest of hoodlums and juveniles; we have also been on massive raid on motor-cyclists (okada riders) plying unapproved routes. Though it has been a herculean task, it is not beyond us; we are going to sanitise Oshodi and make it a model. As soon as we are done with that, people will know that we are serious about what we are doing,” he said.
