The letter raised several fundamentally wrong images of a state embroiled in political violence, a state where the PDP is dead or about to die, a state where intolerance is at its highest and a state where religious bigotry has reached an alarming level to the extent that for one to express his views, he needs an army of protection to do so.
Was Tata trying to achieve a cheap publicity? Or was he so ignorant of the consequences of using religious and ethnic hate mongering to achieve a political score? Or was he so adamant that he could go to the extreme in the art of lie telling to achieve an already known agenda, which is to attract the President’s attention during elections? Whatever reason Tata has for writing a blatant lie by dragging the name of the good people of Katsina State as religiously intolerant and violent people, he has only exposed himself as a person ready to damage the image of his people for his own personal interest.
The state has been an abode of unity, national cohesion and a centre of education and excellence even before the amalgamation of the northern and southern protectorates. That is why it is called the Home of Hospitality. But by describing the state as an abode of violence where, according to him, (Tata) the PDP cannot win election, or even carry out campaigns without being protected by soldiers and armed policemen, he has done disservice to his people and must come out to apologize.
In a serious country where security of lives is taken seriously, Tata would have since been invited to explain and proof his claims. He would have shamelessly been forced to face his people and apologize for dragging their good names in the mud by profiling them as violent, he would have been shamed, exposed as what he is, an opportunist.
This administration has tackled youth restlessness with the most comprehensive strategies available by establishing a world recognized craft village that caters for the training needs of hundreds of youths in the state. This has assisted in riding corrupt politicians like Tata the usual army of “thugs” they would have recruited in perfecting his plans to cause chaos when the PDP decides to campaign.
It is pertinent to state emphatically that the use of religion as a campaign tool is not known here in the state and for those who want to introduce it, then let them know that there are no devil minds to be recruited, for our children are busy attending to schools or their training institutions. For Tata and his ilk that were used to thuggery as a tool for politics, their stock is no more available here.
