Team Integrity wins 14th NNPC sports festival
The 14th NNPC Ltd Sports Fiesta wrapped up in grand style over the weekend at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, with Team Integrity emerging as the dominant force of the week-long competition.
Representing the Port Harcourt and Benin Zones, Team Integrity topped the medals table with an impressive haul of 31 gold, 18 silver and 21 bronze medals, alongside nine trophies, securing their place as overall champions.
Team Sustainability, comprising athletes from the Abuja and Kaduna Zones, finished second with 15 gold, 26 silver and 23 bronze medals. Team Excellence from the Lagos and Warri Zones took third place, posting 13 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze medals.
Addressing athletes and officials at the closing ceremony, the Group CEO of NNPC Ltd, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, praised the competitors for a spirited display of commitment and skill.
He said the sports festival reaffirmed that NNPC Ltd can excel both “on the field and in the marketplace” through resilience, teamwork and excellence.
Looking ahead to the 20th Nigeria Oil & Gas Industry Games (NOGIG) scheduled for February 2026, Ojulari expressed confidence that talents unearthed at the Fiesta would uphold the Company’s winning tradition.
“Let the discipline you showed throughout these games elevate our performance; let the unity you built here strengthen our teamwork; let the excellence you demonstrated become our daily standard,” he noted.
Executive Vice President, Business Services, Sophia Mbakwe, also commended the athletes, stating that from the performances witnessed, “NNPC Ltd is not just going to participate at the forthcoming NOGIG, it is also going to make an impression.”
