Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the honourable Minister of Sports has brought his fiat to bear by ordering that the welfare of Nigerian athletes should come first before that of officials. And this order has brought tremendous joy to Team Nigerian athletes.

‘’These athletes are the reason for you and I to be in London for the Games. We should place the athletes at the heart of whatever we do. If you want the best from them, you must give them the best’’, Abdullahi was quoted as telling officials in a meeting a scribe described as intense.

‘’He did not mince words by telling them that the welfare of athletes come first before others’’, the scribe said.

Daily passes to the Olympic Village where the athletes stay is limited but the Minister warned that whatever quota Nigeria gets should go to the athletes first before considering any other official or their families.

The Minister said that he should not even been considered for such passes before athletes.

The athletes are happy and are hailing the Minister. One popular athlete while talking about the development said; ‘’A Daniel has come to judgement’’.
