It came as a shock when the news broke that Nollywood star, Ada Ameh, famed for her role in the popular sitcom, The Johnson, died today.
Before her death, the iconic movie star had her fair share of the ups and downs of life which she shared with her friends, family and fans whenever given the opportunity.
Below are some of the tears and triumphs of the late movie star, Ada Ameh
– Although a native of Benue State, Ada Ameh, was born on May 15, 1974, and raised in Ajegunle, Lagos State, a location predominantly occupied by the Yoruba-speaking people of Nigeria. She received both primary and secondary school education in Lagos State but dropped out of school at 14 due to teenage pregnancy.
– It was gathered that the actress whose education was thwarted was impregnated by a navy officer, sadly, her parent got separated the same month she got pregnant.
– Upon the discovery of her pregnancy, Ameh was sent packing by her father from his house when she was 15 years old and her baby was just 5 months old.
– Sadly, she lost her only child and daughter, Aladi Godsgift, on October 20, 2020, after an unsuccessful surgery in an Abuja hospital.
– After the death of her daughter, in a recent interview, the late actress revealed that she had lost about seven of her family members within short a period, however, the death of her daughter was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
– Ameh further revealed before her death that she had been battling depression. She noted that due to her mental health state, some people who had contracted her for some jobs had slammed her with legal suits. She said, “ I have been depressed and it became very worse when I lost my daughter in 2020.”
