Speaking during the commissioning of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) at the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development, NIPRD last week in Abuja, Dr Bindir noted that universities and research institutions have greater role to play in technology to develop the economy.
According to him, technology is capable of banishing poverty from the country is properly used.
He said: “Vision 20: 2020 is possible. But we cannot attain vision 20: 2020 if we continue doing exactly the same things that we have been doing last 50s. What I mean is that the knowledge infrastructure must mature. Universities cannot continue going on strike. Professors must do research on things that matter that when marketed, it will transform into something that is usable to our communities. And once you see technologies moving into communities, poverty will be disgraced and ran away.
