An Osogbo Chief Magistrate Court, on Wednesday, remanded four men including a teenager in Ilesa Prison custody over alleged armed robbery and murder.
The four accused are Ibrahim Morufu, 22; Kazzem Afeez, 20; Ismaila Toheeb, 20 and Isiaka Mariam, 18.
Magistrate Aishat Ajanaku did not take their plea but ordered that they be remanded in prison due to the magnitude of the offences they allegedly committed.
Ajanaku ordered that the case file be transferred to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice, while the case was adjourned till Nov. 13 for mention.
The prosecutor, ASP Idoko John, had told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 21 at about 9pm at Onward Area of Osogbo.
John said the accused, who were armed with dangerous weapons, conspired among themselves to rob one Amodu Owonikewu of his motorcycle and also carted away his money.
“They killed Owonikewu after they had attacked him with guns, cutlasses and charms before escaping but were later apprehended,” he said. (NAN)
