A 14-year-old teenager, identified as Prosper, has allegedly stabbed his friend, Osamede Osagbovo, to death during a dispute over N2,000.

Prosper and the deceased, both touts at Ramat Park in Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, reportedly worked together canvassing passengers for motorists and helping load passengers’ luggage into vehicles in exchange for small payments.

Trouble was said to have started when the duo attempted to share the N2,000 they earned from a job. Prosper allegedly insisted he could not split the money equally with Osamede because he had done more work.

The argument reportedly degenerated into a fight, during which Prosper allegedly ran to a spot, grabbed a bottle, and stabbed his friend. Osamede was said to have died on the spot before help could reach him.

It was gathered that operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC), who were on patrol in the area, arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police.

Confirming the incident, the Corps Deputy Commander, Richard Balogun, said operatives of the Corps, upon arriving at the scene, apprehended the suspect and transferred him to the police for investigation and prosecution.
