The police in Ekiti State have charged an 18-year-old man, Abubakar Monsuru, with theft of water meters before an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Olubu Apata, told the court that the defendant on June 30, 2024, in Ado-Ekiti, stole four water supply meters valued at N800,000, property of the Ekiti State Water Corporation.
He asked the court for a short adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.
Counsel to the defendant, Mr Omojola Mayowa, urged the court to grant his client bail.

The Magistrate, Mrs Taiwo Ajibade, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 and adjourned the case to July 17.
