A teenager, Suleman Adam, has been arraigned before a Kano Chief Magistrate Court sitting in No man’s Land over alleged armed robbery.
Adam and one Yahaya now at large were arraigned on two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery contrary to sections 97 and 298 of the penal code law.
Police prosecutor, Inspector E. Dango told the court that the duo committed the offence on 18 September, 2018 at Unguwar Kwari quarters in Kumbotso local government area.
Dango said the accused persons attacked their victim one Mohammed Ahmed Dangana with dangerous weapons and dispossessed him of one techno GSM handset valued at N 35, 000, a Gionee mobile phone worth N17, 000, 3 sets of different caps estimated at N60, 000, 2 sets of women wrapper valued 20, 000 and N85, 000 cash, summed up to N217, 000.
The same accused persons were said to have committed similar offence sometime in 2017.
The prosecutor told the court that Adam and Yahaya criminally armed themselves with dangerous weapons and stormed into the house of one Hamid Abdullahi Adam and robbed him of nine sets of women wrappers valued N31, 500, one satelite receiver worth N1500, 12 sets of English wears valued N42 000, 4 sets of dressing clothes valued N84, 000 all totaled N167, 000.
The presiding judge, Senior Magistrate, Aisha Muhammad Yahaya ordered that the accused person be remanded and adjourned the case to October 3rd for hearing.
