Teenager remanded for alleged sexual abuse

An Ado-Ekiti chief magistrate court has remanded a teenager, Kunle Amujo, at the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti over alleged sexual
abuse charge against him.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, informed the court yesterday that Amujo, 18, committed the offence on May 18, 2020 in Odo-Oro Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Ikebuilo alleged that the defendant sexually abused a four-year-old girl.
The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant at the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of the Ekiti State Director of Public Prosecution. Amujo’s plea was not taken in court.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adefumike Anoma, ordered that he should be remanded pending the issuance of legal advice by the DPP.
