A Katsina magistrate’s court has remanded one Hussaini Surajo, 19, over alleged rape of his neighbour’s 7-year-old daughter.

Surajo was said to have lured the girl to a friend’s farm where he forcefully had sex with her.

The incident, which allegedly happened at Katoge village in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State, was reported to the police by the victim’s stepfather.

The police First information Report deposited at the court read: “You, Hussaini  Surajo, 19 years  alias Malam, deceived and took (the victim)  inside a farm of one of your friends of the same address and forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with her, contrary to Section 283 of Penal Code.”

The presiding magistrate, Fadila Dikko, remanded the accused in prison till May 10 when the case is expected to come up for further mention.
