A 38-year-old tenant, Mary Pascal, was arraigned yesterday before a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating her landlady over N3,000 security bill.
Pascal, a resident of No. 24, Ethopia Road, Barnawa Kaduna, is being tried for assault to which she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on October 12, at about 4pm at her residence.
Leo stated that the complainant asked the defendant to pay her security bill of N3,000 after failure to pay for three months.

The prosecutor said in the process, a fight ensued and the defendant hit the complainant with an iron bucket which caused her great pain and she was hospitalised.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 213 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.
The magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until November 9, for hearing. (NAN)
