Speaking to Feverpitch, the coach said at the end of last season, many clubs in the NPL came for his services but he turned down such attractive offers to stay back in Minna.
He said the management of the club and the government of Niger State appear interested in working harmoniously with him for the club to play continental football next season.
Tenger who has coached other Nigerian clubs like the once dreaded BCC Lions, Lobi Stars, Wikki Tourists, Gombe United, Kano Pillars, and Kwara United maintained that if the management keeps its own side of the bargain, he would ensure Tornadoes pick a continental ticket.
“I am staying back in Tornadoes because I have seen the prospects of the club winning something next season. I had offers from so many other clubs but I stayed back because the management of Tornadoes appears to be serious.
“I don’t like the idea of moving from one club to the other for the sake of it. I want to remain in Tornadoes so that I can help them win a continental ticket. My appeal is to the management of the club to be respect our agreements”.
Meanwhile, a top official of the club said the Benue born coach would not collect any sign on fee but would be smiling to the bank with close to N10m every month.
“ We have embedded everything into his salary. This means he would be going home with something close to N10m every month.
“It is for this reason that he turned down clubs like Enyimba FC. He is happy here and we are confident he would give us a continental ticket next season”.
