A gas cylinder exploded in a restaurant in Jalingo, capital of Taraba State, around 9.30pm on Sunday.

The explosion occurred when people were eating at the restaurant but nobody was killed or hurt.

Residents scampered in different directions following the loud sound which many thought was a bomb explosion.

The explosion was heard in different parts of Jalingo metropolis.

Bomb explosions were recorded in  some parts of Taraba, including Jalingo town, a few months ago.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Usman Abdullahi, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.
