The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, said terrorists and bandits will soon begin to feel the impact of the Nigerian Army’s newly adopted techniques and procedures.

Speaking through Major-General Henry Wesley, Commander of the Ordnance Corps, Oluyede made the statement after a firepower demonstration held at the Victor Kure Armour Range in Bauchi on Wednesday.

The event marked the end of the 2025 Combat Arms Training (CAT) Week.

He revealed that the federal government had procured advanced weapons and equipment to bolster ongoing military operations across the country.

He said, “The enemy may not be here, but they will soon feel the consequences. The government has acquired significant equipment-some are already in the field, while others are on their way.”

Oluyede emphasised that the firepower demonstration helped participants understand the Army’s current operational capabilities.
