Terrorists have set ablaze a Gulf car belonging to vigilantes while they were patrolling the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway around 7pm on Tuesday, City & Crime reports.

It was also gathered that the terrorists injured a commander of the vigilantes identified as Audu during the encounter which occurred close to Manini community near Kurega town.

A community leader, Mohammadu Umaru, who confirmed the incident, said the vigilante commander was hit with a bullet on his shoulder.

He said, “The terrorists blocked the highway for hours on Tuesday evening after setting ablaze the only Gulf vehicle our vigilantes use to patrol the highway. The vigilante commander was hit with a bullet on his shoulder, but thank God he is responding to treatment.”
