The blessing belongs to every believer through Christ (Galatians 3:29). But why are most believers struggling? What is the missing element? 

Genesis 39:2, “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” 

Genesis 39:3, “And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.” 

The emphasis here is the presence of God in Joseph’s life. This is about the Lord. The Lord was with him and the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. The Lord who made a promise to Joseph did not leave him. He was with him helping and encouraging him along even when he found himself in an unexpected place.

I can say that since I came to Abuja on the Lord’s assignment that the Lord has been with me and that He has made all that I do to prosper.

Genesis 39:4, “And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.” 

1. The grace of God translates into favour with men. “And Joseph found grace in his (Potiphar’s) sight…” From now on you will enjoy uncommon and unlimited favour with men. You will enjoy favour in your business. Your family will enjoy favour. In your place of work you will enjoy favour. Favour will open doors for you wherever you go. Favour will ensure that you receive what is denied others. Favour will surround you like a shield in the name of Jesus.

2. The grace of God makes you a leader. “…and he made him overseer over his house.” The grace of God distinguishes you.

3. The grace of God puts stuff in your hand. From now on your hands will never be empty. From now on your pocket, your purse, your bank account and your house will never be empty! You will blossom, you will flourish and prosper exceedingly. 

 Genesis 39:5, “And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.”

Joseph was making maximum impact even as a slave. Everything in Potiphar’s house, received the blessing of the Lord because of the presence of Joseph and His God. This year, the blessing of the Lord is going to be upon everything you put your hand on. You will impact your environment and everyone in your circle of influence will know that God is with you. God will bless everything and everyone around you. They will know they are blessed because of you. God will bless your house with abundance. He will bless your family. He will bless your business, your job and everything you lay your hands on. The blessing of the Lord will pursue you and overtake you. The blessing of God is coming upon everything you have.

“…and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.”

“The blessing of the Lord it maketh rich…” Proverbs 10:22. It is the blessing that makes the difference.” From now on the blessing of the Lord will manifest fully in your life! Everything you touch will turn to gold.

How do you enjoy the blessing of the Lord?

1. Believe it is yours and that you are already blessed. Confess the blessing and live like you are blessed.

2. Stay away from sin. A holy lifestyle ensures the manifest presence of God in your life. A holy lifestyle keeps the channel open for the flow of divine abundance into your life. Joseph described fornication and adultery as “…great wickedness, and sin against God.” Today, people minimize the seriousness of sin. They look at sin as something light. But Joseph did not see it that way. He respected God so much he saw sin for what it is: a great act of wickedness against God. Sin loses its power over you from now on in Jesus name!

3. Walk in love towards all men particularly those that oppose you. Forgive those who hurt you.

4. Help people. Remember you are blessed to be a blessing. Maximum grace is released on you so that you can abound unto every good work. Joseph helped and served in Potiphar’s house. He helped and encouraged the prisoners he stayed with in jail. He helped Pharaoh interpret his dream. He helped the Egyptians to save from the years of surplus and to survive the years of famine. He was always helping. Helping people provokes the steady flow of grace in your life. When you stop helping people, grace stops to flow.

5. Obey God in all things. Obedience is your access to the life of supernatural abundance. Deuteronomy 28:1-2, “1And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.” Obedience of divine instruction is the key to the release of divine blessings. Psalm 1:1-3; Joshua 1:8, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Become a doer of the Word of God and you will never lack in your life. I release upon you the grace to obey and to keep the commands of God in Jesus name.

6. Be an honest person.

7. Sow seeds sacrificially. Abraham did not hesitate to offer Isaac when God demanded for him. At the point of sacrifice this precious seed, God stopped him and provided a ram. In Abraham’s heart and in God’s sight, the sacrifice had already been made. What you are willing to let go is what multiplies in your life. The seed that leaves your hand does not leave your life; it goes into your future to produce for you. Harvest does not follow need, it follows seed. Your access to the blessing is your seed. It is God’s method: what you sow is what you reap!
