Conflicting orders emanated from six states in one month, all in favour of different political parties turfing it out in court ahead of the 2023 polls. It has been an embarrassment prompting the chief justice of the nation to summon the six judges.

The rollout of digital currency termed “e-naira” is rolling on track for the October 1 date. CBN has named Bitt its technical partner, and lists advantages of using a digital currency, hours after it announced transaction limits.

Summon to end conflicting rulingsThe Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad has summoned six chief judges over the conflicting court orders that emanated from their states in one month.

States whose chief judges were summoned over the recent spate of conflicting judgments by courts of coordinate jurisdictions are Rivers, Kebbi, Cross River, Anambra, Jigawa and Imo.
ISWAP attack in Borno force residents into CameroonThe Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) has launched a massive attack in Rann, headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to sources, many residents of the town fled to Cameroon as a result of the attack. Rann shares a border with Cameroon.
3 kidnapped in Kogi church invasionThree members of the Living Faith Church Worldwide have been kidnapped at Osara community along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of Kogi State.

Daily Trust learnt that the kidnappers invaded the church when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend.

CBN names Bitt partner for e-Naira projectThe Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has announced the formal engagement of the global finance technology firm, Bitt Inc., as the technical partner for the rollout of the digital currency e-Naira.

The selection of Bitt Inc. from among highly competitive bidders is hinged on the company’s technological competence, efficiency, platform security, and interoperability and implementation experience, CBN stated.

Biafra motherland warriors?A new militant group, ‘Biafran Motherland Warrior’, has emerged in the South East.

The group, which is said to be deadlier than the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed wing of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reportedly operates around Mbaise area. A new video, which has gone viral, showed the group attacking security agents in Mbaise.
Court to stop SSS using name “DSS”A Lagos-based lawyer has asked a Federal High Court in Lagos to ban the State Security Service (SSS) from being addressed or addressing itself as ‘Department of State Service (DSS)’ without an amendment of the law.

The lawyer, Tope Alabi, also prayed the court to declare that the DSS is not an agency established under any law in Nigeria.
