She is not like a single female student who has enough time to combine her academic swith other engagements. Student-mother is faced with many responsibilities and challenges and she works so hard to make sure that these challenges never distract her from her academic pursuit.
She wakes up on Monday morning after a stressful night reading at night, because she didn’t have time to read during the day, and attending to the kids. Awake in the morning she takes care of some house chores, like bathing the kids, preparing breakfast for the family and probably feeds the children.
Finally, she may get to the school and she may not be allowed to go into the lecture room because she probably arrived there late. In the lecture hall, she may not concentrate because she thinks of one family problem or the other and how to solve them.
After lectures she will try to meet her classmates to discuss what she missed before she finally rushes home to take care of her kids, help them do their school home work and starts preparing dinner.
Before rounding off with these and other activities it is time to go to bed and she will go to bed very tired, she may sleep for some hours and then wake up in the night to read. This could be her routine activities from Monday to Friday in her continuous struggle to build her future.
Student-mother also goes through another challenge whenever she or her kids fall sick. While very few husbands help their wives to handle this kind of situations, majority of them just provide money to their wives to run the affairs of the family.
Though life is not easy for her, the student-mother hopes that one day she will get to the place where she desires. A student-mother should, therefore, be regarded as strong woman, dedicated and hardworking. In the end, even if she doesn’t get the best result, she knows that she did try.
