The stage is set and the die is cast. The battle ground is the Abuja National Stadium where two of the continent’s most celebrated teams vie for the pole position in Group Two of African zone of 2010 World Cup.

No doubt, the “Battle of the Skies” will provide the fireworks as the soccer heavyweights go for each other’s scalp in search of a place at the world’s biggest soccer show.

As the two countries will face off for the maximum points, the Carthage Eagles will strive to defend their 80 per cent excellent record in the race which saw them garner seven points, while the Super Eagles on their part would try to improve on their unbeaten run with a convincing victory to take over the group leadership for their today’s rivals.

Already with a two-point advantage over Nigeria, hosts Tunisia know that a win today will establish a commanding lead in Group B. The Carthage Eagles who have been infallible at home were dealt a blow in their last encounter by their today’s foes, Nigeria who ran away with a point after a 0-0 draw at Rade.

Eagles, who have been training in Abuja for the past one week are looking for total victory to take over the group’s leadership from today’s rivals Tunisia who have remained at the top since their away 2-1 victory over Harambe Stars of Kenya in Nairobi.
