More absurd of course is the fact that there are some who are in prison because of a mere theft of one thousand naira and they have been languishing in jail for so long, almost forgotten. These prisoners don’t get any fair hearing because the speedy dispensation of justice seems to favour the rich over the poor.  The Nigerian constitution guarantees right to life and right to freedom. This is something denied to some prison inmates because of the delay in the administration of justice in Nigeria.
