Thus, by 2012, the Geely Panda will be assembled in Nigeria said the Managing Director/CEO, Hyra Motors, Mr Oluwaseyi Oyinlola.
Mr Oyinlola disclosed this in Lagos at the official launch of the Geely Panda in Nigeria. “By the end of this year, we will start assembling the Geely Panda in Nigeria because the Panda has been highly successful. Currently, the demand is beyond our supplies” he noted.
“The Panda is environmentally friendly and the safest mini car in the world. It is rated five-star yet the cheapest mini car. It has 1.3 litres engine, ABS, EBD, doge light and some other exciting features,” he said, adding that Hyra Motors has sufficient modern facilities for after sales support services.
Elsewhere in China on December 29, the National Passenger Car Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, gave the Geely Panda a title, “the King of Safety” by its prominent score (45.3) in C-NCAP test, and it became China’s first independently-researched minicar achieving five-star performance in collision tests. Therefore, Geely Panda is regarded as the safest minicar in China.
It is learnt that Geely Panda has experienced frontal complete collision test, frontal angle collision test, and side collision test, and the final performance is based on Geely Panda’s scores in the above three tests.
