The good leader Yobe State needs

Success is not achieved in one day; it’s a long time plan which is done with involvement of others, for no man is an island. Our contribution to the life of others is what determines our status in the society which we live in.

Yobe State needs a leader that is not only good, but capable as well. For a leader can be good, but at the same time clueless. I therefore present an outline of a good, capable and trustworthy leader that my dear state should work to have in the 2019 election.

One, a leader should be able to tackle the issue of epileptic power supply by looking at alternatives, like solar. We need adequate water supply, and good roads, both federal and state.

Two, a good leader should introduce skills acquisition centres for the youths and less privileged citizens of the state to get them occupied in money-making activities and put them beyond the control of mischief makers. An idle mind, as they say, is the devil’s workshop.

Three, a good leader should embark on putting new infrastructure including well-equipped hospitals and functional schools in place for the sustainable development of the state.

Four, a good leader should be fair to all the people of the state without placing any tribe above the other in a selfish manner. In other words, the people should have a sense of belonging.

In conclusion, leadership is an important position and those who become leaders will account for their stewardship on the Day of Judgment. What one sows is what one shall reap. May Almighty Allah give us a leader that will be just and merciful to the people, especially the masses.
