Set in Romania at the height of Ceauescu’s reign of terror, ‘The Land of Green Plums,’ Bode Asiyanbi’s latest read, tells the story of a group of young people who leave the impoverished province for the city in search of better prospects and camaraderie.
Asiyanbi is a two-time winner of the BBC African Performance Playwriting Prize and worked with the BBC World Service Trust as a writer. His stage play, ‘Shattered,’ was performed at the 2013 British Council Lagos Theatre Festival.
